Russian forces struck Ukraine’s fuel and energy sites on June 18, hitting facilities in the Kiev and Poltava regions amid reports of explosions.
Russian forces have carried out another retaliatory strike against Ukraine’s fuel and energy infrastructure. The Russian Defense Ministry reported the operation on June 18.
According to the ministry, the group strike was launched in response to terrorist attacks by the Kiev regime and targeted fuel and energy facilities used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Russian attacks hit a fuel and lubricants depot in the Kiev Region, as well as an oil refinery in the Poltava Region. The ministry said the strike involved high-precision ground- and air-based weapons, along with long-range unmanned aerial vehicles.
Earlier, Ukrainian sources reported powerful explosions in Kiev and Poltava during the night of June 18. Strikes were also recorded in the Poltava and Chernigov regions, as well as in Sumy and Odessa.
Later, Ukrainian sources said Kiev and Poltava had been targeted with Iskander-M missiles. At least four missiles launched from the Bryansk Region struck Kiev, while six explosions were heard in Poltava. Both cities experienced power supply problems after the attacks.
