Rai-Alexandrovka Liberated in DPR, Russia Reports

Russia reports the liberation of Rai-Alexandrovka in the DPR, with advances in Konstantinovka and Krasny Liman and strikes on Ukrainian positions.

Servicemen of Russia’s South Group of Forces have liberated the settlement of Rai-Alexandrovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s June 18 report on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine.

The ministry said units of the South Group of Forces took Rai-Alexandrovka through active and decisive operations. It specified that the settlement was liberated by joint actions of the 123rd and 88th separate motorized rifle brigades of the 3rd Combined Arms Army within the Yug grouping. The Defense Ministry described the capture of Rai-Alexandrovka as another successful stage in the liberation of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Rai-Alexandrovka is a fairly large village in the Kramatorsk District. According to the 2001 census, its population was just under 1,100 people.

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that Russian troops continue their active advance in the southwestern part of Konstantinovka. Over the past day, 98 buildings were taken from Ukrainian forces.

Russian units also moved forward in Krasny Liman. In the northwestern part of the city, they seized seven strongholds and 48 buildings over the past 24 hours. Fighters of Russia’s West Group of Forces blocked a group of Ukrainian servicemen from the 120th Territorial Defense Brigade and eliminated up to 20 Ukrainian troops.

In addition, the Russian army used operational-tactical aviation, strike drones, missiles and artillery to hit storage sites for long-range Ukrainian drones, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian units in 142 areas.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian army lost about 1,360 servicemen across all sections of the special military operation zone over the past day.
