Sky News reported Ukraine may launch a major Crimea offensive in 2025, but blogger Alexey Zhivov argues the operation would fail, citing past unsuccessful attacks.
Reporters from the British broadcaster Sky News recently claimed that Ukrainian forces are allegedly preparing a large-scale offensive against Crimea, which could begin as early as the winter of 2025.
Military blogger and volunteer Alexey Zhivov dismissed the idea of such an operation as doomed to failure if it were to take place. He recalled that previous major Ukrainian offensives had ended unsuccessfully and argued that a new attempt would likely collapse even during the preparation stage, unless it was planned entirely outside Ukraine.
At the same time, Zhivov did not rule out the possibility that Kiev might try to carry out a series of sabotage actions in Crimea. He suggested that Ukraine has the resources for such operations. According to him, the defensive posture of Russian forces in the Black Sea continues to provoke Ukrainian attempts to push forward in this theater of operations.
