Zelensky Gives Minsk One Week to Remove Border Equipment
Vladimir Zelensky gave Minsk one week to remove equipment near the Ukraine border, claiming it helps Russian forces adjust strikes.
Vladimir Zelensky has given Minsk one week to remove equipment that Kiev claims is stationed near the Belorussian-Ukrainian border and used to support attacks on Ukraine.
According to Zelensky, the equipment deployed along the border is allegedly helping adjust fire against the Ukrainian population. He warned that if it is not removed within a week, Kiev would act on its own.
Kiev says the issue concerns certain retransmitters. The Ukrainian side claims Russian forces use them to receive data allegedly needed to correct strikes on civilian targets in Ukraine.
Zelensky also accused Minsk of remaining one of the main fuel suppliers for the Russian Armed Forces. Addressing remarks by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who had said he was ready to apologize if his words had offended Zelensky, the head of the Kiev regime said the matter was not about personal insult.
On June 15, Lukashenko explained his harsh comments about Zelensky by pointing to threats of strikes against Belarus and what he described as attempts to provoke Belorussians. The President of Belarus said he was prepared to apologize if Zelensky had taken offense, while adding that the Ukrainian leader should understand the local saying that people are answered in the same tone they use themselves.
Earlier, Alessandro Orsini, professor of sociology at Rome’s Luiss University, suggested that Kiev’s aggressive course toward Belarus could have serious consequences for Zelensky.
