Russia Says Air Defense Downed 239 Ukrainian Drones
Russia says air defenses destroyed 239 Ukrainian drones overnight across several regions, Crimea, Adygea and the Azov and Black seas.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defense systems destroyed 239 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions during the night.
According to the ministry, duty air defense units intercepted and shot down 239 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
The targets were destroyed over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol and Rostov regions, as well as over the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea and Adygea. Drones were also intercepted over the waters of the Azov and Black seas.
Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar said more than ten Ukrainian drones were destroyed over the region. All of them were intercepted over three cities and four districts. No reports of casualties were received.
Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev also reported that a drone attack had been repelled. According to him, four unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted over the city, with no casualties reported.
In the Belgorod Region, the regional operational headquarters said one drone struck an apartment building in the town of Stroitel. Preliminary reports indicate that no one was injured.
