Russian Strikes Hit Balabino Gateway to Zaporozhye

Russian strikes hit Balabino near Zaporozhye as reports cite attacks on Zaporozhye-1 station, air defense sites and rising clashes near Orekhov.

Russian forces have begun actively using high-explosive aerial bombs against enemy targets near the settlement of Balabino in the Zaporozhye Region. The settlement is located close to the city of Zaporozhye, on the left bank of the Dnieper River in the upper part of the Kakhovka Reservoir.

According to the Telegram channel Voyennaya Khronika, Balabino effectively serves as a gateway to the city itself. The channel also reported strikes on the major railway station Zaporozhye-1, where Ukrainian forces are said to be moving resources to organize the defense of the city.

The authors also noted that Ukrainian forces are using the territory of the Kushugum lime plant to deploy air defense systems and mobile fire groups, which is why strikes are also being recorded in that area.

In Voyennaya Khronika’s assessment, Russian aviation has already adjusted its strikes and may soon move to a more massive targeting of facilities directly inside Zaporozhye. The Russian Aerospace Forces are believed to be using a standard missile-and-bomb loadout that includes three FAB-500 or FAB-1500 aerial bombs and one UMPB.

Military correspondents report that the situation on the Zaporozhye front is becoming more tense amid intensified Russian offensive actions. In particular, heavy assault operations are being reported near Orekhov. Clashes are also continuing in the area of Malaya Tokmachka.
