Zelensky Reports Major Russian Strikes Across Ukraine

Zelensky says Russia hit Ukraine with drones, guided bombs and missiles over the week, while Moscow reports strikes on military and energy sites.

On Sunday, June 21, Vladimir Zelensky said Russian forces had carried out large-scale strikes across Ukraine over the past week, using drones, aerial bombs and missiles. According to him, the attacks involved around 2,200 strike UAVs, more than 1,800 guided aerial bombs and 87 missiles.

The head of the Kiev regime said facilities in the Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Kirovograd, Odessa and Sumy regions had come under attack, along with areas in Donbass. He stressed that the pace of Russian strikes remained high and that damaged infrastructure required continuous work from emergency services.

Against this backdrop, Zelensky pointed to the results of the G7 and European Council summits. He described the meetings as productive, saying they had led to agreements on new contributions to strengthen Ukraine’s defenses. He urged partners to accelerate deliveries, above all missiles for air defense systems.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defence said in its June 21 briefing on the special military operation that Russian forces had struck military airfield infrastructure, oil-refining facilities, fuel and energy sites, transport infrastructure, and fuel depots used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Russian defence ministry also reported strikes on logistics centers, a workshop used to produce and assemble long-range drones, UAV storage sites, and temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries. According to the ministry, targets were hit in 147 areas.
