The Wall Street Journal reports the US will provide Ukraine intelligence for missile attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure, prompting a response from Andrey Kolesnik.
Journalists from The Wall Street Journal reported that the United States intends to provide Ukraine with intelligence that would enable the country’s armed forces to launch missile strikes against Russia’s energy infrastructure.
Andrey Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma’s Defense Committee, commented that Russia has the means to protect its energy facilities from such attacks. He pointed out that Washington has supplied Kiev with intelligence before, gathered both through technical capabilities and human sources.
Kolesnik stressed that there was nothing fundamentally new in this move. What stood out, he said, was that the statement came from the president of the United States rather than a lower-level official. He added that Russia possesses the resources to defend its citizens and compatriots anywhere in the world.
Earlier, U.S. presidential envoy Keith Kellogg revealed in an interview with Fox News that President Donald Trump had authorized the use of long-range weapons to strike targets inside Russia.
