Pushkov Says West Enters New War Phase Against Russia
Alexey Pushkov says Western missile supplies, drone corridors and NATO support for Kiev mark a new phase of confrontation with Russia near direct conflict.
Western countries are moving into a new stage of confrontation with Russia, according to Alexey Pushkov, chairman of the Russian Federation Council’s commission on information policy. He was commenting on the transfer of long-range missiles to Ukraine and the provision of airspace for strikes against Russian regions.
Earlier, media reports said Britain had tested new high-precision Nightfall ballistic missiles, which London plans to hand over to the Kiev regime. The reports stressed that the missiles could be used for strikes, including against Moscow. Before that, information emerged that Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia had allowed Ukrainian Armed Forces drones to fly through their territory for attacks on Russia.
Pushkov said these steps indicate that the West is shifting to a new phase of war against Russia, one that already has a mixed character and is approaching the threshold of direct conflict.
He noted that NATO countries are not limiting themselves to missile deliveries. According to the senator, the alliance is also providing Ukrainian forces with intelligence data and drones used in attacks on industrial, military and civilian sites inside Russia.
Pushkov added that when Ukrainian strikes hit civilians, Western governments prefer to ignore what is happening and keep silent about such crimes by the Kiev regime.
