Gurulev Urges New Russia Strategy in Ukraine Conflict
Russian lawmaker Andrey Gurulev urges a revised strategy focused on Ukraine logistics, command systems and European arms suppliers amid ongoing operations.
Russian State Duma deputy and retired Lieutenant General Andrey Gurulev has called on Russia’s military command to revise its tactics and strategy in the special military operation zone.
According to Gurulev, the Russian Armed Forces should intensify strikes against the enemy, with particular focus on destroying logistics infrastructure. He listed bridges, depots, railway stations and ports among the targets he believes should be hit.
The lawmaker also said Russian forces need to strike command posts, eliminate key leadership figures and dismantle the enemy’s control system. In his view, the automated command-and-control network and communications systems form the backbone of that structure.
Gurulev further argued that the Russian army should extend strikes to European enterprises involved in supplying weapons to Ukraine. He stated that Russia has the necessary means for such actions, including missiles of all types, as well as strategic, long-range and bomber aviation.
The general concluded that this approach would deprive the Ukrainian army of the ability to carry out strikes on Russian oil refineries.
