US Tests AI-Built Aircraft for Nuclear Warhead Trials, Fox News Reports
The United States has tested the Aires Tide aircraft, designed to simulate flight conditions for nuclear warheads and speed up nuclear weapons production using AI.
The United States has successfully tested a new aircraft, Aires Tide, designed for testing nuclear warheads. Brandon Williams, head of the National Nuclear Security Administration at the U. S. Department of Energy, told Fox News about the test.
According to Williams, Aires Tide is intended to show how Washington plans to use artificial intelligence to move faster in the production of nuclear weapons and the maintenance of the nuclear arsenal.
Fox News notes that the aircraft was designed to simulate the extreme temperatures and vibrations that affect a nuclear warhead during flight.
Specialists from the National Nuclear Security Administration used artificial intelligence and 3D printing technologies to create Aires Tide. Williams believes the use of these tools makes the project comparable in significance to the Manhattan Project, under which the United States created nuclear weapons in the 1940s.
