Russia Says 660 Ukrainian Drones Downed Overnight
Russia said air defenses destroyed 660 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions, Crimea, Moscow region, and the Black and Azov seas.
Russian air defense forces destroyed 660 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
According to the ministry, the attack affected several directions at once. Some of the drones were shot down over border regions, including the Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk regions. UAVs were also destroyed over central Russia, including the Oryol, Kaluga, Tula, Ryazan, Lipetsk, and Voronezh regions.
In addition, air defense systems operated over the Rostov and Astrakhan regions, the Moscow region, Crimea, and the waters of the Black and Azov seas.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin separately reported on the situation near the capital. According to him, since the start of the day, the 45th drone had already been shot down on approach to Moscow. He publishes information about the destruction of drones on his Max channel.
Sobyanin also said that emergency services specialists were working at the sites where debris had fallen. He did not provide any other details.
Against the backdrop of the attack, restrictions were introduced in the area of three Moscow airports. Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Sheremetyevo began accepting and dispatching flights only after coordination with the authorized agencies. Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency explained that this was due to restrictions on the use of airspace in the airport areas.
