Russia Prepares for SBU’s 40-Day Operation
Military expert Anatoly Matviychuk said the SBU’s 40-day operation may target Crimea, Russia’s energy sector and air security systems.
Ukraine, backed by Western countries, will try to implement a comprehensive strike program against Russia, but Moscow is aware of these plans and is taking the necessary measures. This was stated to NSN by military expert and retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk.
The assessment followed Vladimir Zelensky’s announcement of a 40-day SBU operation against Russia. In his Telegram address, he claimed that the operation was allegedly aimed at ending the armed conflict. Matviychuk, however, said that such a program has effectively been underway for several weeks.
According to the expert, the SBU has been assigned three key tasks. The first is to attempt to isolate Crimea and create unbearable conditions for the peninsula’s population. The second involves inflicting irreparable damage on the energy complex of the Russian Federation. The third task, Matviychuk claims, is aimed at destroying Russia’s warning, reconnaissance, and air security system in relation to countering drone attacks.
The expert noted that this is not a single action, but a comprehensive program that has been carried out for some time with the involvement of forces from the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States. He also linked the developments to a change in U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s position on Anchorage and sharply described the actions of Western countries as uniting against Russia in order to harm it wherever possible.
Matviychuk stressed that Zelensky’s and the SBU’s plans are not a secret to Russia’s leadership and military command. According to him, Moscow is preparing for such a development.
The expert said that new anti-drone units are being created locally, along with structures intended to counter terrorists. He admitted that the situation may be unpleasant and could lead to certain losses, but believes they will not be as critical as Zelensky expects.
