Russian Marines Find Kropyva Tablet Computers in DPR
Russian marines found password-protected tablet computers with the Kropyva system after taking Novy Donbass in the DPR, according to RIA Novosti.
After the liberation of the settlement of Novy Donbass in the DPR, Russian servicemen discovered data carriers containing military information at abandoned Ukrainian Armed Forces positions. This was reported to RIA Novosti by a battalion commander of a marine unit within the Center group of forces, who uses the call sign Bars.
According to him, the finds were made during the clearing of Ukrainian units' strongpoints and command posts. Russian fighters seized documents, maps, communications equipment, and electronic devices left at the positions.
Among the items found were tablet computers with the Kropyva program, which is used as a troop command-and-control system. The battalion commander of the 177th Guards Marine Regiment noted that such devices may contain data of interest to Russian specialists.
Bars said that all the tablet computers found were password-protected and had been handed over to specialized services for further examination. He expressed hope that specialists would be able to gain access to the information and determine the routes, concentration areas, order of actions of Ukrainian Armed Forces units, and other data.
On June 16, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of the settlement of Novy Donbass in the DPR. According to the ministry, it was taken by marine units within the Center group of forces.
