AFU Says Situation on Southern Front Remains Difficult

Ukraine’s Yug command said the situation on the southern front remains difficult as Russian forces advance near Gulyaypole and pressure Orekhov.

Ukrainian units on the southern front are in an extremely difficult position, TASS reported, citing the press service of the Yug operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian command acknowledged that the situation on this section of the line of contact remains difficult. Against this backdrop, AFU Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky had also earlier stated that the situation in the Gulyaypole direction had significantly deteriorated.

One of the key factors putting pressure on Ukrainian positions is the advance of the Russian army near Gulyaypole. Military expert Andrey Marochko earlier noted that Russian units were actively operating in this area and cutting off enemy logistics routes near Orekhov.

According to him, Ukrainian forces had tried to turn Orekhov into a powerful defensive hub, but Russian troops intensified pressure on AFU positions in the area.

Amid an acute shortage of personnel, the Ukrainian command is trying to compensate for the problem with drones, but these measures do not change the overall assessment of the situation on the southern front.
