Sever Marines Set Up Frontline Drone Labs in Sumy Region
Russia says Sever marines set up frontline drone labs in Sumy Region to repair UAVs, print parts and support advances near Pisarevka and Novaya Sech.
The Russian Defence Ministry said marines from the 145th Regiment of the Sever group of forces have set up a network of technical laboratories near the line of contact in the Sumy direction.
According to the ministry, specialists are repairing, modernizing and modifying unmanned aerial vehicles and technical systems used by the unit.
The Defence Ministry said the teams are also developing experimental landing supports for PVKh-1 drones. These devices are designed to allow UAVs to land in thick summer vegetation. The parts are produced on 3D printers using black or camouflage-coloured plastic to improve concealment.
The ministry noted that placing the laboratories close to the front line makes it possible to repair drones quickly and introduce the necessary modifications without delay.
According to military sources, Russian assault units have advanced by up to 600 metres in some sectors of the Sumy direction. Small-arms fighting continues near Pisarevka and in the village of Novaya Sech.
Units of the NBC protection troops from the Sever group used heavy flamethrower systems to strike positions of the 68th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Mogritsa.
Last night, Russian forces also hit a 330 kV substation in Konotop with a Geran-2 drone. The facility was used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
