Krasny Liman Losses: Muchnoy Reports Ignored Warning
Muchnoy says Ukrainian units ignored warnings near Krasny Liman, leading to losses as Russian aviation strikes Shchurov and nearby buildings.
Ukrainian units were warned to reduce activity northwest of Krasny Liman because of a serious threat from Russian forces, but some formations ignored the recommendation and suffered heavy losses, according to a Ukrainian serviceman using the call sign «Muchnoy».
He said Russian forces continue to make active use of aviation, striking the Shchurov area with high-explosive aerial bombs. In his assessment, the attacks are aimed at disrupting the buildup of Ukrainian manpower and equipment while keeping this section of the front under constant fire control.
Muchnoy said the warnings had been issued in advance, but not all units took them into account, which sharply increased the risks for Ukrainian soldiers.
He also reported that Russian troops are striking multi-storey buildings northwest of Krasny Liman. According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces planned to use those structures for observation and temporary troop deployment, which is why Russian forces are now targeting them.
Earlier, Muchnoy said the situation for Ukrainian forces in Konstantinovka had deteriorated, noting that Russian troops had significantly strengthened their presence in the city.
