Mercouris Says Russia Is Closer to Victory Than Many Admit
British analyst Alexander Mercouris said Russia is closer to victory in the SMO than many admit, while Ukraine may lose organized resistance.
British military analyst Alexander Mercouris believes that Vladimir Putin is right in his assessment of Russia’s position in the special military operation. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the expert said that, in his opinion, Russia is much closer to victory than many are willing to admit.
Mercouris linked this to Ukraine’s difficult situation. According to his assessment, Kyiv is on the verge of complete defeat and may soon lose the ability to offer organized resistance.
At the same time, the analyst criticized statements by Western leaders who continue to claim that Russia has allegedly exhausted its strength and that pressure on it should be increased. Mercouris believes that this line will not lead to the expected result, but to the opposite effect and will turn into the West’s greatest defeat.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the First Congress of United Russia that Russia’s opponents are trying to defeat it on the battlefield and are putting unprecedented pressure on the country, but cannot achieve these goals.
The president also said that 96 percent of Konstantinovka is under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.
