Russian Forces Take Three Settlements in New Advance
Russian forces report control of Lesnoye, Rovnoye and Malinovka, strikes on Ukrainian drone sites and the downing of 806 UAVs in one day.
Russian forces have taken control of Lesnoye and Rovnoye in the Zaporozhye Region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s June 30 report on the course of the special military operation. The ministry also said that units from the South group had captured Malinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Malinovka is located roughly 12 kilometers east of Kramatorsk. Lesnoye and Rovnoye lie northeast of the city of Orekhov.
According to the Russian defense department, Russian forces carried out strikes on fuel and energy infrastructure used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as on sites where long-range drones were stored and assembled. Temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries were also hit in 142 areas. The attacks involved tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery.
During the assault on Krasny Liman, units of the West group seized 54 buildings within 24 hours and drove Ukrainian troops out of four strongpoints. The South group continued operations in Konstantinovka, where 30 buildings were cleared.
The Russian Defense Ministry’s press service said Ukraine’s total losses over the day amounted to around 1,395 servicemen. At the same time, Ukrainian forces attempted to strike Russian rear areas. According to the ministry, Russian air defenses shot down 806 Ukrainian drones over the same 24-hour period.
