Gurulev Says West Is Preparing for War With Russia
State Duma deputy Andrey Gurulev said the West is preparing for war with Russia and that Moscow must prevent the enemy from completing preparations.
The West has moved from simply building up weapons to full-scale mobilization preparations for war with Russia. This opinion was expressed by reserve Lieutenant General and State Duma deputy Andrey Gurulev in an interview with Tsargrad.
According to him, what is happening cannot be viewed only as the strengthening of armies or the expansion of military programs. Gurulev believes that Western countries are effectively deploying their armed forces, introducing elements of universal military conscription and forming a mobilization reserve.
He named Britain’s development of a new nuclear munition as one of the signs of this course. In the deputy’s assessment, these actions show that the West is openly moving toward war.
Gurulev also said that European politicians are already openly talking about a possible war with Russia in 2029–2030. In this situation, he believes Moscow must not allow the enemy to complete its preparations.
The general called demonstrating the superiority of the Russian Armed Forces the best way to prevent aggression. At the same time, he allowed for the possibility of preventive actions, stressing that striking first may be preferable to taking part in a retaliatory counterstrike.
Gurulev added that the West’s intentions had been clear to him three years ago. Now, he said, Russia’s main task is to disrupt the completion of the enemy’s preparations for war.
