Syrsky Challenges Zelensky Claim on Belarus Repeaters

Alexander Syrsky says Belarus repeaters near Ukraine remain in place, challenging Zelensky’s claim that the devices had stopped operating.

Ukrainian commander-in-chief Alexander Syrsky has effectively contradicted Vladimir Zelensky’s recent claim that Belarus had switched off repeaters which, according to Kiev, help Russian forces guide drones toward targets in Ukraine.

According to Syrsky, the devices have still not been dismantled. He added that one of the repeaters had resumed operation the day before. The commander expressed hope that Minsk would understand that such actions were undesirable and would stop using the equipment.

In an interview with the 1+1 television channel, Syrsky said that one repeater had been activated the previous day and suggested that the Belarusian authorities would no longer switch such devices on, as they should realize they had no need to continue doing so.

He also stated that the Ukrainian army has the necessary experience, trained crews and resources to respond to possible threats from the Belarusian direction and prevent enemy drones from flying toward the border.

On June 19, Vladimir Zelensky issued an ultimatum to Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, giving him one week to remove the repeaters from the Ukrainian border. Otherwise, the head of the Kiev regime threatened that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would «do it themselves». Several days later, Zelensky claimed that the repeaters on Belarusian territory had stopped operating.
