NATO May Prepare LCM Mk2 and DELUGE Tandem by 2030
Voyennaya Khronika reported that NATO may use the LCM Mk2 missile and DELUGE drone tandem to suppress radars and break through Russian air defenses.
By 2030, NATO may obtain a strike combination designed to break through Russian air defenses. It involves the joint use of the LCM Mk2 long-range missile and the DELUGE drone, according to the Telegram channel Voyennaya Khronika.
According to the outlet, this scheme is designed to suppress radar station channels and create conditions for the main missiles to pass through a layered air defense system.
The LCM Mk2 is reportedly capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 1,000 kilometers and carries a 300-kilogram warhead. The DELUGE drone has a shorter range of about 500 kilometers, while its warhead weighs 50 kilograms.
Voyennaya Khronika believes that, when used together, these systems form a layered strike. Decoy drones are supposed to distract and suppress detection and guidance radar stations, opening «windows» for cruise missiles to break through.
According to the outlet’s assessment, the LCM Mk2 and DELUGE tandem may be ready for mass use by 2030.
