Macgregor Says Ukraine Cannot Turn Conflict Course

Douglas Macgregor says Kiev and its Western backers cannot change the conflict’s course as media claims seek more U.S. weapons for Ukraine.

Kiev and its Western backers will not be able to turn the course of the special military operation, former Pentagon adviser Douglas Macgregor said on a YouTube channel.

According to the American analyst, claims that Ukraine is winning or has a new opportunity to push Russian forces back are a sign that the real situation is desperate. He argued that such statements are part of a media campaign aimed at persuading U. S. President Donald Trump to provide Ukraine with more weapons.

Macgregor compared the situation to an engine that is being fed small portions of fuel so it can keep idling for a little longer. In his view, this approach can no longer be sustained for much time.

Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said failures on the front should push Kiev to enter negotiations immediately. Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya also said Ukrainian troops are suffering losses and rapidly losing combat capability.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also said in an interview with India Today that territories controlled by Ukrainian forces will either be liberated by the Russian military or Ukrainian troops will leave them on their own.
