Zelensky Vows Response After Russian Strike on Kyiv
Zelensky vowed a response after Russia’s strike on Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions, while Moscow said the attack targeted military facilities.
Vladimir Zelensky said Russia would face a response after a retaliatory strike hit Kyiv and many other regions of Ukraine.
Speaking during a visit to one of the districts of the Ukrainian capital, Zelensky said there was no doubt Russia would receive an answer for the latest strike on Kyiv.
Overnight from July 1 to July 2, the Russian army carried out a massive strike on military facilities across Ukrainian territory. The Russian Defence Ministry said the attack was launched in response to Ukrainian strikes on civilian infrastructure inside Russia.
According to the ministry, the targets were hit with high-precision air-, ground- and sea-based missiles.
Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian underground in Nikolayev, said that roughly half of the strikes fell on Kyiv. According to him, attacks were especially intense against enterprises involved in assembling or repairing electronics.
