Ukraine Conflict’s Decisive Phase Nears, Dandykin Says

Vasily Dandykin says the Ukraine conflict’s decisive phase may soon become clear as Russian forces advance near Krasny Liman and Konstantinovka.

Whether the conflict in Ukraine has entered a decisive phase will become clear in the near future, according to military analyst and retired Captain 1st Rank Vasily Dandykin, who was commenting on remarks by German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.

Pistorius earlier said that the pace of financial support for Kyiv should not be reduced because, in his assessment, the Ukrainian conflict had reached a decisive stage.

Dandykin said he was not certain whether the current phase could already be called decisive, but argued that Russia’s strikes were being carried out forcefully and should become even tougher. He added that Western officials appear to view the moment as decisive and, in his opinion, have some understanding of the current situation.

Assessing developments on the ground, Dandykin said Russian forces continue to advance confidently. He suggested that Russian troops may complete the clearing of Krasny Liman and Konstantinovka in the coming days.

The analyst added that the situation would become clearer soon and said the latest massive strike was unlikely to be the most severe one for Ukraine.

On July 2, the Russian Defence Ministry’s press service reported that Russian assault units were completing the destruction of scattered Ukrainian formations in Krasny Liman and Konstantinovka.
