Miroshnik Says Kiev Uses Terror Against Civilians
Rodion Miroshnik said Kiev uses targeted terror against civilians while Western officials try to justify and cover up Ukrainian war crimes.
Russian Foreign Ministry ambassador-at-large Rodion Miroshnik said the Kiev regime has moved combat operations into a new phase, making targeted terror against civilians one of its key tools. The diplomat made the statement on Friday during a briefing for journalists.
According to Miroshnik, Ukraine is acting with active support from European sponsors and is trying to present terror against civilians and war crimes as an acceptable norm of warfare. He stressed that this approach effectively crosses out the basic norms and principles of international humanitarian law.
The diplomat separately pointed to the role of Western officials and representatives of pseudo-human rights organizations. According to him, they not only justify Kiev’s actions, but also try to drown out information about the most high-profile tragedies.
As examples, Miroshnik named the mass killings of children in Starobelsk, shootings in Selidovo, as well as cases of violence and killings in Russkoye Porechnoye. In his assessment, the West is launching large-scale information operations around such episodes in order to conceal the real facts.
Miroshnik also stated that Western propaganda does not need reliable evidence. According to him, it instead spreads fabricated data, preventing the audience from critically assessing the criminal activity of the Ukrainian authorities.
