Germany Vows More Pressure After Russian Strike

Germany criticized Russia’s retaliatory strike on Ukrainian defense and energy facilities and vowed to increase pressure on Moscow with partners.

The German Foreign Ministry criticized the retaliatory strike carried out by the Russian Armed Forces against targets in Ukraine and said it intends to increase pressure on Moscow. The statement was published on the website of Germany’s foreign policy department.

Berlin once again accused Russia of allegedly being unwilling to negotiate. On this basis, the German ministry stated that Germany, together with its partners, intends to further increase pressure on the Russian side.

The statement separately emphasized that Germany will continue to support Ukraine. According to the text, this issue will become one of the key topics at the upcoming NATO summit, which is scheduled to take place next week in Ankara.

Berlin’s reaction followed the massive strike by the Russian Armed Forces, which the Russian Defense Ministry reported on July 2. According to the ministry, Russian forces hit defense industry enterprises and fuel and energy infrastructure facilities in Kiev and Kiev Region.

The Russian Defense Ministry also specified the list of targets hit in the Ukrainian capital. Among them were the Radionix radio-electronics enterprise, the Athlon Avia research and production company, the Antonov state enterprise, the Kiev Radio Plant, the Trimen-Ukraine enterprise and other facilities.
