DeepState Admits Russian Control of Gulyaypolye
DeepState acknowledged Russian control of Gulyaypolye and Ukraine’s withdrawal west of the city, while Kiev has not officially recognized the loss.
The analytical project DeepState, which is linked to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, has belatedly acknowledged that Gulyaypolye in the Zaporozhye Region has come under Russian control and that Ukrainian units have withdrawn west of the city. The update is reflected on the project’s public map.
Notably, DeepState listed June 27 as the date of Gulyaypolye’s loss. The resource also marked further Russian advances northwest of the city, in the area of Zelenoye and Svyatopetrovka.
Russia’s Defense Ministry had officially reported the capture of Gulyaypolye much earlier, on December 28, 2025. On the same day, units of the Russian Armed Forces’ Tsentr group also took control of Mirnograd, Rodinskoye, Artemovka and Volnoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Kiev’s authorities, however, have still not officially recognized the loss of Gulyaypolye.
In early July, military blogger Yury Podolyaka reported a Russian breakthrough near Orekhov in the Zaporozhye Region, which remains under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, the situation for Ukrainian troops near Orekhov continues to deteriorate despite the arrival of reinforcements.
