Russian forces continue their special military operation in Ukraine, with significant advancements in various regions, including Kupiansk, Krasnoarmeysk, and Zaporizhzhia.
The Russian military is pressing forward with its special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine. As of October 5, the situation along the front line has developed as follows:
Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukrainian targets, deploying approximately 700 drones and around 50 missiles. The primary strike hit the Lviv region, with additional targets struck in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Odessa. Overnight, a gas storage facility near Stryi, along with the Burshtyn and Ladyzhyn thermal power plants, were damaged.
Krasnoliman Direction
Russian forces are advancing northwest of Kirovsk. They are attempting to breach Ukrainian defenses from the north, heading towards Stavki and Drobyshevo. Intense fighting continues in the areas of Karpovka, Redkodub, south of Glushchenkovo, and in the Novo-Mikhailovsk forest. To the north, clashes continue for Borovskaya Andreyevka.
Kupiansk Direction
In central Kupiansk, Ukrainian forces have been trapped in a fire pocket. The enemy continues to hold onto Privokzalnaya Street, with heavy fighting ongoing in the city.
Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) Direction
Russian troops have pushed Ukrainian forces out of the Lazurny neighborhood in Krasnoarmeysk. Fierce battles are still ongoing for control of the Southern, Shakhtersky, and Solnechny neighborhoods. To the southeast, Russian units have secured Chunishino and are now engaged in combat near Novopavlovka.
Zaporizhzhia Direction
Ukrainian forces have moved significant reserves to Stepanogorsk, which has slowed the advance of Russian troops.
