NATO Pledges €70 Billion in Ukraine Military Aid
NATO countries pledged €70 billion in military aid for Ukraine in 2026, with support expected to remain at least equal in 2027, summit declaration says.
NATO member states have pledged €70 billion in weapons and military assistance for Ukraine in 2026. The alliance’s final summit declaration also states that support in 2027 should remain at least at the same level.
According to the document, allies have promised €70 billion for military equipment, assistance and training for Ukraine in 2026, while reaffirming their sovereign commitments to maintain at least an equivalent level of support in 2027.
Most of the aid is expected to come from European countries and Canada through bilateral and multilateral mechanisms. Of the annual €70 billion package, the European Union is set to provide €60 billion. The remaining amount will come from European NATO members and Canada.
At the same time, the declaration contains no commitment to admit Ukraine into the North Atlantic Alliance. During the summit, NATO countries also signed new military contracts worth $50 billion.
The final declaration again described Russia as a long-term threat to the Euro-Atlantic community.
The document does not specify the location or date of the next summit. The 36th NATO summit was held in Ankara on July 7–8 and brought together leaders of the alliance’s 32 member states, as well as NATO partners.
