Tsarev Said Ukraine May Intensify Drone Attacks on Moscow by Autumn
Oleg Tsarev said Ukraine may intensify air raids on Moscow by autumn and argued that Russia needs new air defense tools against drones.
By autumn, the Ukrainian side may intensify air raids on Moscow, since key decisions are made in the capital. This opinion was expressed by former Verkhovna Rada deputy and first speaker of the Novorossiya parliament Oleg Tsarev.
In his assessment, simply increasing the number of Pantsir systems will not be enough to protect against drones. Tsarev believes Russia urgently needs to develop new means of countering UAVs, including anti-aircraft drones and small air defense systems.
He said the enemy is betting not on a quick turning point at the front, but on creating as many problems as possible in the Russian rear. According to Tsarev, such strikes can be compared to the «war of the cities» between Iraq and Iran, when casualties were significant but the front line did not change.
The former deputy recalled that earlier in Russia there had been calculations that strikes on energy and oil infrastructure would force Ukraine to surrender. However, according to him, this did not happen.
Tsarev also noted that even during the period when Russia had an advantage in missiles and Shaheds, it was not possible to achieve victory through shelling alone. In his opinion, Ukrainian strikes similarly will not lead to Russia’s defeat, but they can create a large number of difficulties for it.
The enemy’s main emphasis, Tsarev believes, is now placed precisely on such actions — not on a decisive military result, but on the systematic creation of problems in the Russian rear.
