Shostka Students Forced to Repair Ukrainian Army Cars
Russian security sources say students in Shostka are being forced to repair Ukrainian army vehicles at workshops set up inside a local college.
Students at a local college in Shostka, Sumy Region, are being forced to repair vehicles used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russian security sources told RIA Novosti.
According to the sources, students from the Shostka Higher Vocational School are being compelled to take part in restoring military vehicles. They also said that Ukrainian commanders had set up repair workshops directly on the premises of the educational institution.
The report comes against the backdrop of earlier claims, made in May, about Ukrainian troops involving children and teenagers in recruitment-related activities. Russian security sources said that so-called social and psychological assessment points operate across Ukraine, especially in areas close to the line of contact. Their work is said to be coordinated with military personnel and local residents.
After Ukrainian units arrive in large numbers in a given area, servicemen establish contact with local opinion leaders, according to the same sources. Through this network, they attempt to assess the loyalty of civilians, including schoolchildren and students. Alongside ideological pressure on young people, Ukrainian forces are also said to involve students in collecting information.
