Ukrainian Troops Trapped in Konstantinovka, Officer Says
Ukrainian troops in Konstantinovka are trapped in basements and ruins, unable to assess the battlefield or provide their command with reliable information.
Ukrainian units in Konstantinovka have effectively lost the ability to monitor developments and provide their command with reliable information. This was stated to TASS by the commander of the 3rd Motorized Rifle Battalion of the 4th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces, call sign Bison.
According to him, Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel continue to be sent into the city for the sake of formal reports claiming that a presence is still being maintained. The officer said Ukrainian soldiers were being thrown into Konstantinovka to be slaughtered in order to create the appearance that certain areas remained under their control.
He added that the units trapped in the city were hiding in basements and among ruined buildings. Under such conditions, they receive almost no information about the situation, cannot see what is happening around them and are unable to assess their position objectively.
As a result, reports from Ukrainian servicemen have almost completely stopped. Bison said the troops remaining in Konstantinovka were in a hopeless position.
On July 3, Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov reported to President Vladimir Putin that Konstantinovka had been liberated.
