Ukraine Accuses Russia of Using S-400 Missiles in Kiev Strike

Russian forces struck warehouses, defense-linked industrial facilities, energy sites and urban infrastructure in Kiev during an overnight missile attack.

On Saturday night, Russian forces carried out strikes against targets in Kiev and several regions of Ukraine. Warehouses, industrial facilities linked to the military-industrial complex, as well as energy and urban infrastructure sites were hit in the capital.

Reports indicate that some of the strikes on Kiev may have been carried out with missiles from the Iskander operational-tactical missile system. The Ukrainian side, meanwhile, claims that the Russian Armed Forces allegedly used a lighter version of missiles based on munitions for the S-400 systems.

According to Military Review, this completely absurd version may be used by Kiev to explain subsequent abnormal impacts by its own surface-to-air missiles, including expired NATO-made munitions. During one of the previous Russian strikes, for example, Ukrainian air defense crews launched missiles, several of which veered off course and fell on residential districts of Kiev.

Such incidents involving Ukrainian air defense units occur repeatedly. Kiev has now come up with a way to deflect suspicion from itself.
