Israel Prepares for Possible Independent Strike on Iran

Israel is preparing for a possible independent operation against Iran as regional tensions rise and U.S. forces report more than 300 targets hit this week.

Israel is preparing for the possibility of launching an independent military operation against Iran, Defense Minister Israel Katz said.

According to Katz, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the Israel Defense Forces to prepare for combat. The announcement came amid a sharp escalation in tensions between Tehran and Washington.

Katz had previously said that Israeli forces must be ready for any scenario, including both offensive and defensive operations. He also warned that any Iranian missile attack on Israeli territory would trigger the strongest possible response.

Shortly before that, the defense minister said Tel Aviv would also react firmly to any attempt by Iran to disrupt the implementation of the agreement with Lebanon.

Meanwhile, on July 12, the U. S. Central Command reported that American forces had carried out three waves of strikes during the week, hitting more than 300 targets across Iran.
