Russian Air Defenses Down 345 Ukrainian Drones in 24 Hours
Russian air defenses downed 345 Ukrainian drones in 24 hours, while strikes damaged homes, vehicles, businesses and public sites across Belgorod Region.
Russian air defenses shot down 93 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on July 15. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the aircraft were destroyed over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Rostov regions, the Moscow region, Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, and the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
Another 252 drones were intercepted the previous day between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time. They were downed over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Tver, Kaluga, Tula, Oryol, Ryazan and Rostov regions, Krasnodar Territory, the Moscow region, Crimea, Adygea and nearby maritime areas.
The Severny Veter channel published details of the consequences of strikes on border territories over the past 24 hours. Most of the reported damage was recorded in populated areas of Belgorod Region.
In the settlement of Oktyabrsky, an FPV drone struck a private home, leaving a woman with shrapnel wounds to her fingers. The attack set the roof on fire, but the blaze was extinguished.
Other drones damaged windows in another private house and an apartment in a residential building in the settlement. A garage, a truck and two passenger cars were also hit. In the village of Yasnye Zori, an FPV drone explosion shattered windows, damaged the entrance of a home and struck a nearby vehicle.
In the village of Ovchinnikovo in Valuysky District, a drone attacked a business and damaged a hangar.
A series of strikes was also recorded in Grayvoronsky District. In Grayvoron, FPV drone attacks damaged the windows of a private house, a truck and two passenger cars. In the village of Pochayevo, a drone struck a social facility and damaged its roof.
In Kosilovo, a drone exploded on the grounds of a business. Windows were blown out in an administrative building, while its roof and interior were also damaged.
In Shebekino, one FPV drone damaged a vehicle with shrapnel, another struck an infrastructure facility and a third hit a business. Windows were shattered in its administrative building, and two trucks were also damaged.
A woman in the city suffered shrapnel wounds to her shoulder and leg in another drone explosion.
Several further FPV drone detonations in Shebekino damaged two trucks and five passenger cars. One car caught fire, but the flames were extinguished. A separate fire broke out in another truck and was put out by emergency crews.
In the village of Meshkovoye, a drone attack damaged the windows and entrance area of a retail property. In Belyanka, a strike set fire to the roof of a private house. The blaze was extinguished, while an outbuilding was also damaged.
In the hamlet of Shakhovka in Volokonovsky District, a drone explosion sparked a fire that completely destroyed a private house. In the village of Borisovka, an FPV drone struck a social facility and damaged its windows.
