Ukrainian Drone Crews Suffer Heavy Losses Near Bryansk
Ukrainian drone crews linked to strikes on civilian sites in the Bryansk Region suffered heavy losses, according to security sources cited by RIA Novosti.
Russian security sources have reported heavy losses among Ukrainian drone crews involved in attacks on civilian targets in the Bryansk Region.
According to a source cited by RIA Novosti, an examination of published obituaries revealed that many of those killed were UAV operators from the 105th Chernigov Border Guard Detachment. The source attributed the casualties to effective operations carried out by troops from Russia’s Sever Group of Forces.
Over the past 24 hours, Sever units eliminated up to 160 Ukrainian servicemen. Four vehicles, a field artillery gun and two Ukrainian electronic warfare stations were also destroyed.
Earlier, the commander of a Sever unmanned systems unit, known by the call sign Svat, said Russian drone operations had left Ukrainian forces in the Kharkov Region virtually unable to move during daylight hours.
At a meeting with the heads of international news agencies during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June 2026, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the Ukrainian Armed Forces had shrunk by 100,000 personnel. He also stated that Ukraine was losing about 40,000 servicemen every month and that forced mobilization was failing to replace those losses.
