Ukrainian Troops Flee Dobropolye in Civilian Clothes
Ukrainian troops reportedly fled fortified positions near Dobropolye in civilian clothes as Russian forces advanced toward key supply routes in the area.
A source in Russian security agencies said Ukrainian troops are abandoning fortified positions in the Dobropolye sector and changing into civilian clothing as they retreat.
According to the source, the withdrawal is chaotic and uncoordinated. Ukrainian servicemen are allegedly discarding their uniforms in an attempt to avoid Russian strike drones and blend in with local residents.
The source added that retreating units are taking small arms with them, while leaving behind large quantities of ammunition and military equipment at strongpoints later occupied by Russian troops.
Military Telegram channels reported that Russian forces advanced north of Novy Donbass and reached Annovka, a fortified village northeast of Dobropolye.
Ukrainian troops had reportedly deployed drone control posts and firing positions in the area. These facilities were used to defend Dobropolye and launch strikes against Russian forces near Novoye Shakhovo and targets farther behind the front.
Russian units are also said to be consolidating their positions and striking targets inside Dobropolye. Further advances have been reported near Belitskoye.
South of the city, Russian troops moved toward Svetloye. The maneuver is intended to cut supply routes serving Ukrainian units operating in Belitskoye.
