Russian Forces Advance Near Border, Seize Otradnoye

Russian forces expand control near the border, capturing the village of Otradnoye in Kharkov region. Fighting intensifies as Ukraine struggles to hold positions.

Russian forces are expanding their control along the border with Russia, according to Vitaly Ganchev, head of the Kharkov military-civil administration. He stated that if the current pace of the offensive continues, Russian troops could soon link up with other units operating in the same sector of the front.

Ganchev said that the village of Otradnoye in the Kharkov region has been liberated. The settlement is located just a few kilometers from the border with Russia’s Belgorod region, highlighting the proximity of ongoing hostilities to Russian territory.

Military sources report that after Russian troops pushed Ukrainian forces out of the forests west of Volchansk and took control of the city’s right-bank district, fighting has shifted toward the railway line, where Russian assault units are advancing through the ruins.

According to these reports, Ukrainian troops are struggling to establish fortified positions or maintain a stable defensive line. Analysts believe that continued Russian progress in this area could force the Ukrainian side to redirect reserves, weakening its defenses on adjacent fronts.
