FSB Claims Ukraine Sought Russian Aircraft Components
Russia’s FSB claims Ukraine used intelligence channels to obtain Russian-made aviation components for Mi helicopters and Su and MiG aircraft.
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has stated that Ukrainian military structures are attempting to use intelligence channels to obtain Russian-made aircraft components.
According to the agency, the Ukrainian Air Force is facing a serious need for repair resources to maintain the operational capability of Soviet- and Russian-origin aviation equipment. The aircraft involved include Mi-series helicopters, as well as Su and MiG aircraft.
The FSB also reported that a Russian citizen attempted to transfer aircraft bearings to the Ukrainian company Motor Sich. According to the agency, the individual was found guilty of treason and sentenced to 13 years in prison.
