Russian Forces Take Volnoye in Dnepropetrovsk Region
Russian forces took control of Volnoye in Dnepropetrovsk region, destroyed Ukrainian equipment and drones, and struck military targets across 149 areas.
Units of Russia’s Vostok group of forces have taken control of the settlement of Volnoye in Dnepropetrovsk region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s July 19 operational report.
The ministry said troops from the 36th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army played the central role in the assault. They broke through Ukrainian defensive positions, entered the village and secured control of the area.
During the fighting, Russian forces reportedly eliminated up to a platoon from Ukraine’s 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade. They also destroyed three armored combat vehicles, eight other vehicles and six unmanned ground systems. Another 23 heavy Baba Yaga drones were brought down.
The daily report also stated that Russian forces struck facilities used to assemble and store long-range drones, as well as logistics hubs operated by Ukrainian troops. Temporary deployment sites housing Ukrainian armed units and foreign mercenaries were also targeted.
In total, strikes were carried out against targets in 149 areas. The Russian Defense Ministry estimated Ukrainian losses across all sectors of the conflict zone at around 1,500 servicemen over the previous 24 hours.
