Ukraine Frontline Update: Russian Advances on July 20
Latest July 20 frontline update covers Russian advances and fighting near Sumy, Kharkov, Krasny Liman, Dobropolye, Gulyaypole and Zaporozhye key sectors.
Russian forces continue their military operation in Ukraine. As of July 20, the situation across the front was reported as follows.
Sumy Direction
Russian troops are fighting in Ulanovo and on the approaches to Malaya Slobodka. Small-arms clashes also continue in Ryzhevka, Pisarevka, Mogritsa, Maryino, Novaya Sech and Khoten, as well as around nearby settlements and in the wooded areas south of Ivolzhanskoye.
Kharkov Direction
Fighting remains active in Kazachya Lopan. Three Ukrainian assault groups moving from Bugaevka toward the settlement were destroyed.
Small-arms engagements are also underway in Volokhovskoye, Zakharovka, Yurchenkovo and Bely Kolodez, as well as north of Baksheevka and near Shevchenkovo. Ukrainian forces attempted a counterattack between Baksheevka and Zakharovka but failed. West of Kupyansk, Russian troops are targeting Ukrainian military equipment.
Krasny Liman Direction
Ukrainian forces are carrying out counteractions, while Russian troops maintain fire control over roads and river crossings. In Krasny Liman, Russian units are taking up new positions.
Russian forces are also advancing through the forests near Dibrova and Ozernoye.
Konstantinovka Direction
Fighting continues for Alekseyevo-Druzhkovka and Osykovo.
Dobropolye Direction
Russian troops are advancing north of Vasilevka and have taken control of Mirnoye. Battles continue in Annovka and near Dobropolye.
Gulyaypole Direction
Russian forces are expanding their zone of control around Novosyolovka and occupying new positions south of Novodanilovka.
They are also advancing along the southwestern flank of Pokrovskoye. The Russian army has taken control of the village of Volnoye.
Zaporozhye Direction
Heavy fighting is underway near the village of Plavni.
