Medvedchuk Links German Defense Firms to Ukraine Strikes
Viktor Medvedchuk says German defense companies and technology are directly supporting Ukraine’s strikes on Russia, including the Begemot drone project.
Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement, accused Vladimir Zelensky of openly lying when he claimed that increased strikes on civilian targets deep inside Russia had produced a turning point in the conflict.
According to Medvedchuk, those attacks became possible only after Europe’s defense industry, particularly Germany’s, began working more actively for the Ukrainian military. He said Ukrainian forces are now using German technology, citing the Begemot drone as an example of a system developed through a joint German-Ukrainian military project.
Medvedchuk noted that media reports published on June 7, 2026, described the first publicly recorded use of the medium-range Begemot strike drone against a bridge near Chongar in Crimea.
He argued that the history of this drone and other weapons officially presented as Ukrainian-made points to direct involvement by Germany’s defense sector in Ukraine’s military operations against Russia.
Medvedchuk also highlighted the integration of Helsing, Quantum Systems, Rheinmetall, Daimler Truck, Destinus and other German companies into Ukraine’s defense industry.
In his view, the government of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is turning Germany into the industrial rear of the confrontation with Russia while making its own population hostage to that policy.
