Andrey Kartapolov said Ukraine will answer for strikes on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Plant, stressing that Russia will not hit civilian targets but will strike where it hurts most.

Head of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrey Kartapolov stated that Ukraine will be held accountable for the attacks on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, but emphasized that Russia will not strike Ukrainian nuclear facilities, as such actions would endanger civilians.

Kartapolov said that Moscow would instead target areas that would cause maximum damage to the Kiev regime — including training centers, production facilities, logistics hubs, and military cargo. Each such strike, he noted, reduces the enemy’s supply of weapons and equipment.

He also argued that the attacks on the Zaporozhye plant are an attempt by Kiev to provoke a humanitarian disaster and shift the blame onto Moscow, calling such actions openly terrorist in nature.

The lawmaker stressed that Russia would not mirror the tactics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, even in retaliation. Unlike Kiev, he said, Russia does not wage war against civilians.
