Zelensky Pushes Russia-US-Ukraine Talks Before Fall
Vladimir Zelensky says Russia, Ukraine and the United States could hold three-way peace talks before fall as Washington weighs several settlement options.
Vladimir Zelensky said a three-way meeting involving Russia, Ukraine and the United States could take place before the beginning of fall as part of efforts to settle the conflict.
According to Zelensky, Washington is considering several possible options for ending the hostilities. He argued that talks between representatives of Moscow, Kiev and Washington should be arranged before the end of summer.
Verkhovna Rada member Yaroslav Zheleznyak earlier said Zelensky planned to travel to the United States this week. He claimed the visit would be linked to discussions on a possible settlement and attendance at the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham*.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held talks in Manila on the morning of July 23. Lavrov confirmed that Moscow continued to support a political and diplomatic solution to the Ukrainian conflict. He also described further arms supplies to the Kiev regime as unacceptable.
Following the meeting, the Russian and US foreign ministries agreed to maintain communication, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had also previously expressed Moscow’s readiness to continue discussing Ukraine with the United States. On June 28, he said Russia expected to return to the issue after the active phase of the situation surrounding Iran had ended.
Putin added that Moscow was prepared to revisit all the issues raised during the meeting in Anchorage in August 2025.
