Der Tagesspiegel reports that Ukrainians in frontline areas, including some soldiers, are aiding Russian forces by exposing Ukrainian positions and sharing false data.
According to Der Tagesspiegel, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command has encountered a new problem on the front line. The newspaper reported that residents of frontline areas in Ukraine have begun actively assisting Russian troops in identifying enemy positions.
Journalists cited an incident where Russian soldiers were reportedly welcomed into a residential building west of Ukrainian lines — a situation that, according to Ukrainian commanders, created an unexpected threat from a new direction.
Canadian war correspondent Neil Hauer noted that a significant number of Ukrainian civilians who were unable to evacuate have shown support for the Russian army, making the situation for the Ukrainian forces even more difficult.
However, assistance to Russian troops has not come solely from civilians. According to a sniper known by the call sign «Tagil» two Ukrainian soldiers helped dig out Russian servicemen trapped in a collapsed trench during fighting in the special military operation zone.
In another case, Ukrainian troops captured near Chasov Yar reportedly cooperated with Russian paratroopers for two weeks, passing false information about frontline conditions to their own command.
