Ukraine May Announce Plans for New Counteroffensive Soon

Military expert Mikhail Timoshenko suggests Ukraine may soon announce a new counteroffensive, though he notes Kiev lacks resources for a strategic breakthrough.

Ukraine’s military and political leadership may soon announce preparations for a new counteroffensive, according to military expert Colonel Mikhail Timoshenko.

His assessment followed remarks by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, who said the Kiev authorities no longer appear inclined to pursue peace talks. Timoshenko suggested that Ukraine is determined to continue the conflict and could publicly declare plans for fresh offensive actions in the near future.

He argued that such a move would be aimed at maintaining morale within the military and among the public. At the same time, Timoshenko pointed out that Ukraine lacks the necessary resources to launch a full-scale counteroffensive, stressing that its forces would be unable to break through at any strategically significant front line.

The expert concluded that Ukrainian troops are unlikely to achieve a breakthrough toward the Azov Sea or Crimea.
