Russia’s Defense Ministry reports troops captured Ukrainian soldiers and key documents without firing a shot, gaining intel that helped free a settlement.

According to Russia’s Ministry of Defense, Russian troops managed to neutralize a group of Ukrainian servicemen and obtain crucial intelligence without firing a single shot. The information gathered during the mission reportedly enabled Russian forces to fully liberate one of the settlements in the area of the special military operation.

The ministry stated that, after reaching the outskirts of a settlement under Ukrainian control, a Russian assault team discovered a temporary enemy post. Nearby stood a car into which Ukrainian soldiers were hastily loading boxes of documents.

Following the officer’s command, the Russian unit quickly spread out along the flanks, deployed a smoke screen, and carried out the capture without opening fire. Having secured the documents and taken several prisoners, the assault group-led by Guard Lieutenant Biryukov-left the enemy’s rear and successfully delivered both the intelligence materials and the prisoners to headquarters.

The Ministry of Defense reported that after examining the seized documents, verifying the data, and interrogating the prisoners, the regiment’s command decided to carry out missile strikes on the identified Ukrainian positions. This timely and unexpected strike, the ministry added, played a key role in the complete liberation of one of the settlements in the operation zone.
