Military expert Alexey Ramm says the West fears Russia’s nuclear-powered Burevestnik missile for its secrecy, dismissing claims about a radioactive trail.
Russian military analyst Alexey Ramm has shed light on why Western nations regard Russia’s nuclear-powered cruise missile, the Burevestnik, with such trepidation — and why speculation about its alleged radioactive trail is, in his view, unfounded.
Ramm emphasized that the West’s primary concern is not the missile’s destructive capability but the extreme secrecy surrounding its development. He noted that Burevestnik is one of the most classified projects in Russia’s defense industry, and this veil of mystery alone fuels what he called a near «sacred horror» in Western circles.
According to the expert, part of the fascination — and unease — lies in the missile’s unique operational potential. He explained that it can remain airborne for several days, enabling it to deliver an unexpected strike far from anticipated locations. Claims that it leaves behind a trail of radiation, he stressed, are entirely baseless and have no connection to reality.
