Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said Minsk is ready to help resolve the Ukraine conflict if the U.S. supports peace, stressing Ukraine’s sovereignty and the need to end hostilities.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk is ready to take part in resolving the conflict in Ukraine — if the United States is genuinely interested in peace efforts.

He stated that if Washington wants to help settle the conflict and sees even a small role for Belarus in this process, Minsk is prepared to contribute. Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus’s stance remains unchanged — peace and only peace.

The Belarusian leader also stressed that Ukraine should remain a sovereign and independent state, and the hostilities must be stopped as soon as possible. He warned that there are forces threatening not only Ukraine’s existence but also the security of Belarus.

Lukashenko further commented on the recent Nobel Peace Prize decision, advising U. S. President Donald Trump not to be disappointed that the award went to another politician. With a touch of irony, he added that if the prize had been given to him, he would have declined it.
